Shaheedi Dihara Baba Deep Singh Ji 2023
Baba Deep Singh Ji was a Sikh saint and warrior who lived during the 17th and 18th centuries. He is honored for his uncompromising faith and his self-sacrifice for the Sikh.
Baba Deep Singh Ji was born in Pahuwind village of Punjab province in India in the year 1682. He was a Sikh from his childhood and also was a companion of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Baba Deep Singh Ji, on the other hand, continued to fight and establish the Khalsa Raj and Sikh faith after the death of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
This was a year when Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded India to desecrate the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of the Sikhs. Hearing this news, Baba Deep Singh Ji assembled the Sikh army and proceeded towards Amritsar to protect the Golden Temple.
At Gohlwarh, a village near Amritsar, there was a ferocious fight. With his head severed from his body, Baba Deep Singh Ji continued fighting bravely. He fought still while holding his severed head in one hand and his sword in the other and he was only finally martyred when the sword missed the mark.
Baba Deep Singh Ji’s martyrdom demonstrates the bravery and commitment of the Sikh community. He remains a hero to the Sikhs all over the world.

ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਣਖ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀ, ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕੀਆਂ ।
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਜੀ, ਕਾਬਲੀ ਉਤਰੇ ਬੁੜ੍ਹਕਦੀਆਂ ਹੁਕੀਆਂ ।
ਸ਼ਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਜੀ, ਸੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਟਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਕਾਹਨਾ ।
ਸੋਂਹਦੇ ਕਫ਼ਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੇ, ਚਮਕੀਆਂ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਰਪਾਨਾਂ ।

ਖਾ ਗਿਆ ਖ਼ੌਫ਼ ਸਕੰਦਰ, ਦਿਸਦਾ ਨਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਮੰਦਰ,
ਮਾਲਵੇ ਲੜਾਕੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੁਆਨ
ਖਾਂਵਦੇ ਖਵ੍ਹੀਆਂ, ਚਿਤਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ,
ਥਿਆਗੇ ਹਰਨ ਹਰਨੀਆਂ ਲਵੀਆਂ, ਚਿਤਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ।
ਬੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਝੰਬਣ, ਕਾਬਲੀ ਥਰ-ਥਰ ਕੰਬਣ,
ਨੱਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਢਦੇ ਲੀਕਾਂ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸੁਣਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਕਾਂ,
ਫਿਰਦੇ ਪਠਾਣ ਘਾਬਰੇ ਜੀ ।
ਚੱਲੇ ਰਿਵਰ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹਦਾ, ਮੰਦਰ ਤੱਕ ।
ਸੀਸ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਧੜ ਲੜਦਾ, ਮੰਦਰ ਤੱਕ ।
