Guru Angad Dev Ji Gurgaddi Gurpurab
Gurgaddi Purab of Guru Angad Dev Ji 2023, Dated 15th September. Gurgaddi Gurpurab of Sri Guru Angad Dev commemorates the day when Satguru Patshah Guru Nanak Dev Ji passed the Guruship to Bhai Lehna Ji and named him Angad.

Passing of Guruship to Guru Angad Dev Ji
Guru Nanak Sahib’s stay at Kartarpur was a period of propagation of the faith and the development of a community. Two important incidents happened here – one was probably the passing of his faithful companion, Mardana, and second, he found a faithful disciple Bhai Lehna of Khadur. After putting his disciples on many tests, he eventually nominated Bhai Lehna Ji as his successor and named him Angad.
Bhai Gurdas says:
He…. (before his death) appointed Angad as Guru.
(For) his sons did not obey him,
(becoming instead) perfidious rebels and deserters.
In the Coronation Ode we read :
His sons would not obey his words;
they turned a deaf ear to their priest.
With evil hearts they became rebels;
they took sack loads of sins on their heads.
Lehna obeyed what the Guru had ordered him,
and earned the reward for his acts.

Bhatt Talh Ji has praised Guru Angad Dev Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the Swaiyas as following:
ਲਹਣੇ ਦੀ ਫੇਰਾਇਐ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਦੋਹੀ ਖਟੀਐ॥
ਜੋਤਿ ਓਹਾ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਾਇ ਸਹਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਫੇਰਿ ਪਲਟੀਐ।
Nanak proclaimed Lehna’s succession – he earned it.
They shared the One Light and the same way; the King just changed His body.
