Guru is the spirit of my worship, the Guru is my Lord.
The Guru is my Preceptor, the Supreme Bard.

The Guru is my Deity, Inaccessible, to imbibe hard.

The Guru is my enlightenment.

With folded hands I seek the Guru’s shelter.

Gond Mahala 5th ( Gur meri pooja Gur Gobind… )

The Guru is my True Lord and my worship lies in the recitation of the Guru’s True Name. The Guru is my Lord- Almighty and the Guru is my True Lord-sublime. The Guru alone is my limitless Lord and my enlightener, who is beyond my comprehension. The service of the lotus-feet of the Guru comprises all the worship of various gods. (1)

There is no other support for me except the Guru, as such I always (day and night) recite the True Name of the Guru alone. (Pause
1)

My knowledge consists of the Guru’s guidance, and I have inculcated the love of the Guru in my heart. The Guru alone is the sustainer of the whole world and the Lord-sublime. I always take refuge at the lotus feet of the Guru with my folded hands, as I have no other support except the Guru to look up to. (2)

The Guru’s teachings (Guru’s guidance) provide us with the ship of safety for crossing this ocean of life successfully, and the Guru’s service enables us to get rid of the Yama (god of death) and His punishment. The Guru’s guidance provides us the light of knowledge in the darkness of ignorance in this world and the next world as well. The company of the Guru provides us with the means of attaining Salvation (from worldly bondage). (3)

It is only through great good fortune that we are united with the perfect Guru, and it is through the service of the Guru that we are relieved of all our sufferings and ailments. O Nanak! No one would alter the Guru’s Word or the Lord’s Will. The True Guru is an embodiment and personification of the Lord himself. (in the form of Guru Nanak). (4 – 7-9)

गुरु मेरा देओ अलख अभेओ ॥

गुरु ही मेरा सच्चा भगवान है और मेरी पूजा गुरु के सच्चे नाम के पाठ में निहित है। गुरु ही मेरा भगवान है-सर्वशक्तिमान और गुरु ही मेरा सच्चा भगवान-उदात्त है। केवल गुरु ही मेरे असीम भगवान और मेरे ज्ञानवर्धक हैं, जो मेरी समझ से परे हैं। गुरु के चरण कमलों की सेवा में विभिन्न देवताओं की पूजा शामिल है। (1)

गुरु के अतिरिक्त मेरे लिए कोई दूसरा सहारा नहीं है, अत: मैं सदैव (दिन-रात) केवल गुरु के सच्चे नाम का ही जप करता रहता हूँ। (विराम

मेरे ज्ञान में गुरु का मार्गदर्शन शामिल है, और मैंने गुरु के प्रेम को अपने हृदय में स्थापित किया है। गुरु ही संपूर्ण जगत का पालनकर्ता और परम प्रभु है। मैं हमेशा हाथ जोड़कर गुरु के चरणकमलों की शरण लेता हूं, क्योंकि गुरु के अलावा मेरे पास कोई और सहारा नहीं है। (2)

गुरु की शिक्षाएँ (गुरु का मार्गदर्शन) हमें जीवन के इस महासागर को सफलतापूर्वक पार करने के लिए सुरक्षा का जहाज प्रदान करती हैं, और गुरु की सेवा हमें यम (मृत्यु के देवता) और उनकी सजा से छुटकारा पाने में सक्षम बनाती है। गुरु का मार्गदर्शन हमें इस लोक और परलोक में भी अज्ञान के अंधकार में ज्ञान का प्रकाश प्रदान करता है। गुरु की संगति हमें मोक्ष (सांसारिक बंधन से) प्राप्त करने का साधन प्रदान करती है। (3)

यह केवल महान सौभाग्य के माध्यम से है कि हम पूर्ण गुरु के साथ एकजुट हैं, और यह गुरु की सेवा के माध्यम से है कि हम अपने सभी कष्टों और बीमारियों से छुटकारा पाते हैं। हे नानक! कोई भी गुरु के वचन या प्रभु की इच्छा को नहीं बदलेगा। सच्चा गुरु स्वयं भगवान का अवतार और अवतार है। (गुरु नानक के रूप में)। (4-7-9)

ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਹਨ ॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪਰਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮਾਲਕ ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਅਗਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਨ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥
ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ, ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਕੀਰਤੀਵਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਨ ॥

ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਤਾਬੇ ਵਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੋਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ॥

ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰਨ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹਨ ॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ-ਸੇਵਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

ਭਾਰੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਭਧ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦੀ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ ॥
